Changes at Sunset Lodge!

Farewell Letter
To All Guests of Sunset Lodge on Red Lake,
As we are sure most of you are aware, Rene Franczak, our father and the owner of Sunset Lodge, passed away on October 2nd last year. Rene and our late mother, Adele, purchased the business in 1993 and facilitated many beloved hunting and fishing trips. They gave their guests the space and tools to relax and create unforgettable memories. In over 29 years of ownership, they grew friendships with many of you and became a part of your adventure.
After much thought, we realized we could not continue to run Sunset Lodge. However, the lodge is important to too many people to close its doors. Although this is different from how we pictured the Franczak ownership ending, the time has come for a new generation of owners to take over the lodge and carry on what our parents built. As such, we are happy to introduce you to the new owners of Sunset Lodge on Red Lake: Devin Parks, Rebecca Beltrano and their son Sutton.
Devin and Rebecca have experience in the hospitality industry and a deep passion for the outdoors. Under their leadership, we are confident the lodge will prosper. You may notice minor changes around the camp as Devin and Rebecca put their stamp on things. Still, we are positive that you will find these changes exciting and beneficial to your experience. We ask that in this time of transition, you offer Devin and Rebecca grace as they adjust to their new roles and lifestyle. In time, we hope they can carve out a space in your hearts next to us, the Franczak family.
Devin and Rebecca will be in contact with guests who have confirmed reservations for the 2023 season shortly. Additionally, you may contact them with any questions or concerns at fishsunsetlodge@gmail.com or 807-727-2683. We know they are committed to ensuring that your time at Sunset Lodge is as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Thank you for being a part of our lives for so many years. We hope you enjoy the next chapter of Sunset Lodge.
Best Regards,
Deanna, Jeremy, Russ and Mikayla
Introducing Devin, Rebecca, Sutton

Hello Everyone,
We are Devin Parks and Rebecca Beltrano. Together with our young son Sutton, we’re the new owners of Sunset Lodge on Red Lake.
Devin was born in Red Lake and has spent his entire life in the District. Over 25 years of honing his hunting and fishing skills alike. An avid outdoorsman who actively spends his time on the land. He will help lead you to your next trophy game! Fishing spots, techniques and local area knowledge are all strong assets he will help add to your trip. Devin has spent the last 8 years working at Red Lake Gold Mines as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. He also owns and operates Flying Wild Rice Company Est. 2013. This is a Wild Rice harvesting company in the remote area of Trout Lake, Ontario, about 30 air miles northeast of Sunset Lodge.
Rebecca was born in Sudbury, Ontario and relocated to Red Lake in the summer of 2013.
She is also currently employed with Red Lake Gold Mines working in the Commercial Department. She has adapted to the bush life alongside Devin, spending a lot of their free time at the rice cabin. Becca often catches the most or biggest fish on these adventures. She’s also known to “Luck” out while hunting. Having quick success in all her big game hunting trips (10 minutes is a long hunt).
We have quickly enriched Sutton into this active lifestyle, and he has fit in seamlessly. Thoroughly enjoying his boat, quad, and snowmachine rides. A strong interest in all things moving, he will surely look forward to collecting minnows for guests in the years to come.
Together with the help of our families, we look forward to bringing you great trips and everlasting memories. Putting our own touch on the existing operation the Franczak’s have left behind.
All the best,
Devin, Rebecca and Sutton
