When hunting at Sunset Lodge, you will have access to hunting units 2 and 3. Our remote back yard offers the freedom to access endless trails and logging roads as well as traditional hunting from the lake.
 Black Bear: We offer highly successful, fully guided fall Black Bear hunts. Rotating the use of our Bear Management Areas and limiting the number of hunters contribute to our success rate. The sites are properly baited well in advance of the Hunter’s arrival. We urge you to inquire early if you are looking for a hunt this year as space is limited.
 Moose Hunt: The Red Lake area offers moose hunters one of the highest success rates in Canada. We offer guided and non-guided hunts. Moose habitat is plentiful. Again you can hunt the trails and logging roads or hunt the shores of Red Lake. Season opener is mid-October – call to get the exact date.
Grouse, Duck and Small Game: Use your quad for what it is made for – go anywhere! You will find the roads and trails are a paradise for small game and grouse. Compliment your trip with duck hunting and some fishing – you just can’t beat the experience Red Lake has to offer.
Hunting in Ontario: There are regulations which you need to be aware of if you are considering hunting in Ontario. First and foremost is the transport of firearms across an international border. The KDCA web site offers a very comprehensive summary of these regulations at http://canadawelcomesyou.net/firearms.html. In addition, under Ontario Hunter Safety Training Program, everyone must present an old or current hunting licence from either Canada or the United States before a new hunting licence can be issued. Do not forget to bring such a licence. |
