Lodge History: Sunset Lodge has a long history of serving sportsmen - walleye fishermen, northern pike fishermen and hunters.  It was established by Bill Geary in about 1948 and was called Geary's Red Lake Lodge.  Over the years the Lodge has seen various owners and name changes - Van's; Ken's, Van & Arnie's and currently Sunset Lodge & Outfitters when it was purchased by Al Geary (Bill's son) & partners in the mid 80's.

Rene & Adele purchased the lodge in 1993 after managing it for a summer. Rene is an avid fisherman and hunter who grew up on the shores of Red Lake. Adele brings a love of the outdoors and years of experience in the hospitality industry to the lodge. Both of our children have grown up at the lodge; they are learning the ropes and enjoying the great outdoors.

We have made many new friends since 1993.  It is our sincere hope that if we have not met you already, that we will meet you in the not too distant future.
